We are centrally situated on the historic Rochester High Street, close to public transport, life and local shops and ideally positioned for engagement in the local community.

Today we have 55 self-contained flats where residents can enjoy their own space, with their own furniture and belongings around them. Each flat has a living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom with either a bath or shower. All flats have their own front door and emergency call system and our dedicated and experienced Stewards are available 24 hours a day should the need arise. All residents have access to our onsite laundry facilities, to a small library and also to our Chaplain.

Our Common Room is a space where our residents come together for special meals, celebrations, classes and events. Our beautiful outdoor garden has seating and tables so that residents can enjoy the spring and summer months outdoors. We provide secure car-parking facilities that are easily accessible from the main square, though spaces are limited. Residents and visitors also benefit from an efficient rail connection with London, which can be reached in as little as 32 minutes.

We provide one or two furnished guest flats for the temporary accommodation of visitors of our residents. A small donation (£20 per night) is welcomed for the use and upkeep of these flats, and use of these guest flats is subject to availability.

We have a dedicated and experienced team of staff and trustees who support the running of The French Hospital and we strongly believe that home is at the very heart of everything that we do here. We help change lives by providing an affordable, safe, secure and stable living environment.
